Billings Solar is on the Rise

May 8, 2017

Harvest Solar is excited to announce that they have opened up a second location in Billings, Montana. Since the company’s inception in 2012, the Harvest Solar team has already completed approximately 20 solar electric systems in Billings, with 60% of them being residential and 40% commercial.

Notable systems include the 50kW net-metered system on LP Anderson Tire, and two homes featured in the Billings Parade of Homes, with one of the homes taking home first place.

Kyle MacVean, Harvest Solar’s CEO, says Billings is an amazing solar resource.

“Billings is one of the best locations for solar in the United States because they have cooler temperatures and get a lot more sun than most other cities,” he said, adding that the city also has a lot of unobstructed views of the sky.

These conditions enable systems to operate at peak performance, giving owners more power and more money back.

Billings is much more than just an ideal place for solar though. MacVean says he believes the city has a lot to offer — from downtown dining, to music and great mountain biking trails just outside of town — all things he likes to take advantage of when he gets off the roof.

This summer, the Harvest Solar team will be working on a hand full of residential systems in Billings, as well as a few larger scale projects.

While Harvest Solar’s headquarters are still based in Bozeman, the company is excited to get to know even more people in Billings and get more involved in the local community.

“We’ve met a lot of really great people and have been getting continued interest for solar electric in the Billings market, along with a lot of successful systems and happy customers,” MacVean said. “We are looking forward to providing exceptional customer service and affordable, quality systems.”
